Our Governors

The Governing Body of Sherdley Primary School

Kirsty Farrelly -

Chairperson

As a mum of four young children I am passionate about helping to ensure our school provides the best environment to allow all children to fulfil their potential within a supportive and nurturing setting.

Professionally I am a Chartered Accountant and enjoy running my own business. This affords me the flexibility to work around our busy family life but essentially provides the opportunity to become fully involved in school life.

I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of Governors and enjoy the responsibility of co-ordinating the hard work undertaken by all members of the Governing Body. I look forward to continuing to work with all members of the Sherdley community to help to provide the best whole school experience for the pupils of Sherdley.

Rebecca Bridge -

Community Governor

I am a Community Governor and LSA, and I have two children at Sherdley Primary School.

I am dedicated to our wonderful school and I am proud of being part of a team that wants the very best for the children of Sherdley.

Mrs Leanne Howard

Co-opted Governor

Mrs Sandra Edwards -

Co-opted Governor

I have 30 experience of working with children with special needs and I want to continue to help children enjoy their school days. I have two grown up boys who both attended Sherdley Primary and enjoyed their time there. I think all children should be nurtured and feel included within the family of the school.

Mrs Alison McQueen -

Parent Governor

I am a mum of two young children who both enjoy attending Sherdley. I believe children need the best possible start in life and I am proud to be part of a team of Governors who are all passionately willing to deliver that start. I am a parent volunteer working with babies to preschoolers at Sherdley helping to build their confidence before they begin their own education.

Mrs Briars

Parent Governor - Vice Chair

As a parent governor, I am keen to ensure that the voice, aspirations and priorities of the parents of Sherdley pupils are a key part of school decision making at the most strategic level. My background as a teacher, and subsequent career supporting and writing about parental mental health are probably why I was elected to the role - but far more useful are the experiences I live every day raising two inquisitive, exhausting and terrifyingly unpredictable children!

Karen Tilley -

Staff Governor

As an ex-student whose two children also attended Sherdley, I am passionate about seeing it continue developing into an outstanding school.

As a Governor and staff member I want to make sure Sherdley continues to give its students a great foundation so they can be the best they can be.

Tony McCoy -

Headteacher

I am an experienced Headteacher who always puts children first and am proud to be leading Sherdley. I am passionate about making a difference and preparing children for the future. In our school we aim to fully support children to become well-rounded individuals, ready to take up new challenges.

My four children are all grown up and my wife and I are now enjoying our 6 grandchildren! I love playing golf, cycling and following the 'exploits' of Everton Football Club.
