Headteacher's Welcome

We are more than just a 'Good' school, we are a school that puts children first and considers their academic, social and emotional needs.

Welcome to Sherdley Primary School. We believe that our curriculum is creative, exciting and engaging and meets the needs of our children and its local community. Our last Ofsted Report (January 2023) reflects the great work that we do at Sherdley and the comments made by His Majesty's Inspector (HMI) are extremely positive about many things at Sherdley. We set high expectations and continually strive to raise standards by providing stimulating learning oppurtunities and experiences that make learning enjoyable. We strongly believe that our pupils are helpful, confident and benefit from our enriched curriculum. We are often told by visitors to the school that our pupils are, 'polite and well-mannered'; this is something that we are very proud of.

We offer both Breakfast and After School Club facilities run by our staff - Sherdley Blast. Due to the commitment of the staff we are able to offer a range of clubs and extra-curricular activities for our pupils. Our Staff and Governors are fully committed to looking after the moral, academic and social well-being of every child that attends Sherdley.

We are a popular school and for 3 years running our Reception intake has been oversubscribed. Our Pre-school is an intergral part of our Early Years Foundation Stage and we offer both 15 hour and 30-hour places - contact us for more information.

Policies and Website

‘We are saddened to confirm the departure of our Headteacher, Mr. McCoy, who left Sherdley Primary School at the end of the Spring Term. From the Summer Term, Mrs. Bennett will be acting as Head. With this in mind and as you can appreciate, many of our policies have Mr. McCoy's name on, these will be updated to Mrs. Bennett.
