UPDATE ON ATTENDANCE FOR 5BR FOR SPRING 1

I am THRILLED to say that we have made the Top 5 of the Attendance  League this half term!

Well done to everyone who has been in regularly on time - it has really made an impact on the class overall attendance figure.

Our overall attendance for this half term is 96.43%, and our overall attendance for the whole year so far is 96.38% - both of which are above the 96% level of GOOD.

Let's see if we can make the top 3 places by the end of the year - maintaining a spot in the Top 5 would be excellent for next half term!

PLEASE make sure you are in school, on time every day. It REALLY MATTERS!

The amount of new learning in Year 5 is HUGE and if you are absent you miss it and may find it more difficult to catch up and meet expectations for Year 5.

How many children are  GOLD ? [above 98% attendance]      10 children [this has fallen by 1 improved]

How many children are SILVER ?    9 children - this has increased - a GOLD has slipped, but a BRONZE has increased.

How many children are BRONZE ?  8 children  [below 96% attendance] - this has reduced, but we still have a way to go!

To improve your attendance and reach 'Silver' and then 'Gold' it is simple........be in school on time! Your percentage attendance increases every day that you come into school; so if you are not yet at Gold you can achieve it by the end of the year if you come into school whenever you are able to.

Please remember you can leave some medications in school with instructions for use 'when required' to help with stomach cramps or headaches which we know are natural issues for children of this age. Ask in the main office or speak to your child's class teacher or Mrs Lakey.

By the end of Autumn 2 I am really pleased to say that we have moved UP the Attendance League!

We finished in 6th place, which is a huge improvement, so WELL DONE!

Our overall attendance for the half term was 96.22% - making it over the OfSTED level of 96% for GOOD attendance.

We've managed to meet our targets and for this half term I'd love us to maintain this in Spring Term 1 smiley.

HOWEVER we still have a high number of pupils in our class whose attendance is less than 96% - 10 in fact. Remember, GOOD attendance at Sherdley is 96% +. If you are not in school you miss out on opportunities to learn new skills and practise others to meet your end of year targets.

In the Autumn Term 1 Attendance League 5BR finished in 11th place (out of 13 classes), with an overall attendance of 95.8% for the half term.

Obviously this is very disappointing. We were the lowest placed class in Key Stage 2 and the percentage attendance is below the OfSTED 'Good' level of 96%.

It REALLY MATTERS to be in school, on time, every day.

Our target for this half term is to IMPROVE! It would be excellent if we could increase our attendance to an average of over 96%, and to move up at least 2 place in the league.......we don't want to be on that first screen!!!
